Brooke Shields Joins Law & Order: SVU in Recurring Role That Will Shake Up Benson's World

Brooke Shields is back with a recurring role in Law & Order: SVU.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the former model & actress has joined the 19th season of Special Victims Unit in a major recurring role.

"I play a very different character from any I have ever played," Shields said. "I'm excited to stir the SVU pot a bit."

For now, details on her role are being kept very much under wraps. However, it's thought that the character will be ready to shake things up for Lieutenant Benson (played by Mariska Hargitay).

Shields is, of course, not the first major celebrity to join SVU.

The NBC based drama has previously welcomed Sharon Stone, Whoopi Goldberg, Alec Baldwin and even the late Robin Williams into the fold.

Indeed, Shields will not be the only new recruit this season. Philip Winchester has also joined the series, reprising his Chicago Justice character Peter Stone (in what appears to be a NBC universe of its very own.)
